Special Edition: Lose Yourself Releases Today
Your help is needed to spread the word on my latest novel
After three years, Lose Yourself is for sale. The story of six individuals dealing with their own personal crises with a baseball game as its backdrop is now available for purchase. For me, the idea that the book is now a reality is an editorial success.
Now, onto the commercial success.
This is where I need your help. I appreciate your support. Your individual commitment to this newsletter and my writing means the world. Now, itโs time to share that support with others with whom you think this book can connect.
There are three ways to help:
Support and Buy
Lose Yourself is available on all major online retailers. But for royalties sake, here are ways to make that purchase work for me.
Typical online retail. Amazon is the big behemoth, and with Prime, is the best deal. But there are other ways to purchase, including Bookshop.org (support indie bookstores), Apple Books, KOBO, Barnes and Noble.
Buy Direct. This maximizes my royalties for the book you purchase.
Tour Stops and Mail Orders. I buy the books at cost and sell to you at the same price to retain more profits. If I mail, youโll have to pay for shipping, but you can also get it personally autographed. If interested, reach out:
On April 2, Iโll be at Lengthwise Marketplace in Bakersfield 5:30-7 p.m.
On May 1, Iโll be at the Bike Dog Brewing/Baker Family Wines in West Sacramento 5:30-7 p.m.
More to come!
Read and Review
Of course, I just donโt want you to buy. Read the story. I think youโll enjoy it. And when youโre done, please review:
These reviews are essential to moving the book in the algorithm. More reviews mean more people see the book as they browse. More eyeballs mean more opportunites to purchase.
Share
Tell a friend. Do you know someone who likes baseball, sports, a good intertwining story. Share this new book youโve heard so much about that they may enjoy.
Many of you also posted pics of yourself with the book. Please do it again with the #LoseYourselfinthebook hashtag.
While the backdrop is a baseball game, the story is about family dynamics, inner demons, addiction, the qualities of love, living in the moment and expectations. Just like Ted Lasso isnโt really about football, Lose Yourself uses baseball as the setting for personal stories.
Thank YOU!
I canโt express my gratitude that matches the level of support youโve given me over the years. It means so much to me and it is not lost on me the level of investment you have in reading my words. I think Lose Yourself provides a great return on that investment and I hope you enjoy.

What others are saying?
A kaleidoscopic look at the power and beauty of the sport both on and off the field, Lose Yourself is ample proof that baseball is life. Written with a keen eye for humanity, and wrapped around a story of high stakes, Vince Wetzel's latest novel is a powerful contemplation on choices we make and how we keep score. Baseball fans will gobble this up. - Mark Stevens, author of The Fireballerย ย
While Brett Austen may be the focal point, the All-Star's quest for .400 touches the lives of everyone from sideline reporters and ushers to lemonade hawkers and fans. Wetzel's second novel weaves their stories as the tension builds over nine innings on the final dramatic day of the season. - James Bailey, author of The Greatest Show on Dirtย
With Lose Yourself, Vince Wetzel has skillfully crafted six engrossing stories about life, love and baseball. And really, what else is there? - Rich Ehisen, The Open Mic Podcastย
Six stories wrapped around one baseball game?ย Only Wetzel's vivid storytelling can do something like that!ย Weaving everything (and every character) together beautifully, I could not turn the pages fast enough to find out what was next. Sports knowledge is not required - everyone will love this! - Tobin Walsh, The Good Bad Dadย
